Presidents Message

Hello everyone and welcome to APICS Worcester Chapter #22. We
are a Platinum chapter of the highest honors. A chapter
established in 1960 that offers a full breadth of professional
development meetings, and private and public certification
training for both CSCP and CPIM designation.
While we are Platinum in the eyes of the National
Organization, our Chapter does not solely target Fortune 500
companies, but companies of all sizes. Our PDMs are
structured to teach skills and techniques that can be applied
on your factory floor, office, lab, or warehouse the day after
the PDM. We offer subject matter that allows Managers,
Planners, Schedulers, and Buyers to be successful and work to
their full potential.
Our membership also reaches students at Assumption College in
Worcester, where we sponsor a full staff of Student Chapter
Officers lead by their elected President Patrick Keeley. These
students are an energetic and diverse group that shows immense
promise as tomorrows supply chain leaders. These students are
also to be commended for achieving Platinum status after
several periods of overachieving.
The Worcester Chapter has a fully staffed and dedicated board
of directors ready to serve you. We have been a Platinum
chapter for 21 consecutive years and can point to a large
number of accomplishments during our tenure. This year we will
celebrate many of our longstanding members anniversaries, and
accomplishments, by awarding them commemorative APICS pins. We
appreciate and recognize them for their years of exemplary
service. Some of our members have contributed to our current
success for more than 45 years. Thats active memberships
dating back to 1964.
Where were you then?
Our goal is to operate the chapter effectively with an eye
toward starting additional student chapters, expanding our
interaction with Assumption College, growing our list of
company coordinators, and improving service to our existing
membership. We will attract new members by reacting quickly to
inquiries and offering exceptional educational and networking
opportunities.
Speaking of educational opportunities, we have planned a full
year of CPIM certification classes which are already
scheduled. You can register now for any class advertised on
our website.
Thank you for considering Worcester APICS as your chapter of
choice.
Tom Barry
Worcester Chapter President 2011-2012
